Michael Terpin, Editor-in-Chief

Michael Terpin started Social Media World in 2004 (originally titled “Uncorporate Communications”) as a way of commenting on trends in the social media and marketing spheres. Terpin is the founder of SocialRadius, a social media marketing firm that also publishes the popular CES Party List (www.cespartylist.com), CTIA Party List (www.ctiapartylist.com) and other mobile and technology industry blogs. He is a frequent speaker on Internet, mobile and marketing topics, having spoken at CES, E3, NAB, Ad:Tech, PRSA, Frost & Sullivan, Red Herring and many other conferences. He has been published in O’Dwyers PR Report and Global PR Blog Week, as well as profiled in PRWeek.

A serial entrepreneur, he has been frequently written about as a pioneer in online PR and marketing, newswire distribution and social media/Web 2.0 marketing. Terpin founded Terpin Communications (www.terpin.com), a leading international public relations boutique, and Marketwire (www.marketwire.com), one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive international newswires. Marketwire, which was acquired in 2006, employs more than 200 people and has annual revenues of more than $70 million, with offices in 12 cities. Terpin was a finalist in the 2000 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Terpin holds an MFA in Creative Writing from SUNY at Buffalo and a dual bachelor degree in Newspaper Journalism and English Literature from Syracuse University. He serves as an advisor to SU’s Newhouse School of Public Communications, where he was inducted into its prestigious “Wall of Fame” in October 2000.

Jessica Hasson

Jessica has over 10 years of combined experience in web, marketing and public relations. Prior to joining Social Radi.us, Jessica led the new media PR outreach for GSN, the interactive games and cable network Her social media outreach efforts have spanned entertainment, new media, interactive television, games, education, social initiatives and community growth. Jessica holds a B.A. in Mass Media Management from The Biola University, magna cum laude and honors.

Tabitha Grace Smith

Tabitha is a blogger, writer, web designer, podcaster, social media expert and consultant. She holds a B.A. in Communications from Moody Bible Institute, where she graduated with honors and was inducted into the Who’s Who Among Students. Most recently, she was a part of a team honored with two of the 2007 Podcast Awards (Best Produced and Best in the TV/Entertainment category).

Maxine Hopkinson
